Merry Meet folks! It is the time of the first harvest. The summer is in full swing, children are off school and it is time for us to gather in what we have sowed, or worked for this year so far. I was at a Lammas Fair today in Eastbourne, and it is always so lovely to see that first Lammas loaf and share it with friends, washed down with some ale or mead of course! It is when we remember that the days are starting to draw in a little, John Barleycorn is sacrificed and then the harvest is gathered in, seeds are then ready to be sown again next Imbolc, the wheel turns....Lammas or "Loaf Mass" is also known as Lughnassadh, or mourning for Lugh, the ancient Celtic Sun God. The Goddess gives birth now and her abundance is all around us in fruit and grain. It is a great time to walk in the country and obviously fields of wheat and barley seem particularly magickal at this time. If you are off on holiday, have a great time and stay safe! We have loads of great new things in our Shakti at greengoddessearth Ebay shop, and are now doing free postage and packing with free box of incense for all orders over £20. Have a great Lammas, Blessed be, Greengoddess x
